Abdomen Pain
Abdominal pain, commonly referred to as stomach pain, is a discomfort or aching felt anywhere in the area between the chest and the pelvis. It can manifest in various forms, including sharp, dull, cramping, or throbbing sensations, and may be localized to a specific area or widespread across the abdomen. The causes of abdominal pain are diverse, ranging from benign conditions like indigestion, gas, or constipation to more serious issues such as appendicitis, gallstones, ulcers, or infections. Factors like diet, stress, and underlying medical conditions can also contribute.
In some cases, abdominal pain may be acute and severe, requiring immediate medical attention, while in others, it may be chronic and require ongoing management. Diagnosis often involves a detailed medical history, physical examination, and, if necessary, imaging tests or laboratory work to identify the underlying cause.
